Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor convicted for killing Michael Jackson, is now a free man.
Murray walked out of Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles at approximately 12:01 a.m. on Monday (October 28) morning after serving a 2-year sentence.
In 2011, Dr. Conrad Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for his role in the death of Michael Jackson. He was sentenced to 4 years but was eligible for parole mid way his term.
Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009 of anesthetic propofol. Murray was the doctor who administered the drug. His medical license was suspended.
Conrad Murray is appealing the conviction.
Murray’s attorney Valerie Wass spoke briefly with the media this morning but that interview was cut short after she got heckled by a group of Michael Jackson fans.
“They didn’t release him one minute early,” Wass said. “I’m just happy he’s finally out.”
There are rumors of a book deal and a possible reality show for Dr. Conrad Murray in the works.
