Chris Brown - "I Don't Like (Drake Diss)" [LISTEN/DOWNLOAD]

Did you think the Chris Brown and Drake drama was finished? Of course it isn't. Chris Brown hops on Chief Keef's "I Don't Like," and drops some lyrical darts at his fellow light-skinned antagonist. Although Breezy makes it clear that he has no problems at all with the other members of YMCMB, he makes it crystal clear his beef is with Drake and it is over Rihanna.
“A f-ck ni**a, that's that sh-t I don't like/They throwin' bottles, I'm throwin' models just 'cause I give a Itchbay long pipe,” raps Breezy. “I be singin', he be singin', so it's on, fight/ But hold up, I ain't give a ni**a no green light/ This head up, my bread up, one on one, what you scared, bruh?/ Matter fact, take care bruh, you a pu**y ni**a/ My ni**a Tunechi, yeah that ni**a nice/ Shout out to Nicki, man, that A$$ tight/ Them eyebrows, man, them sh-ts is yikes/ OVO, you overdosed, screamin' YOLO no, I live twice.”
Now is Drake finally going to speak on this? Only time will tell.

Manuel Fernandes allegedly attempted to rob a Rent-A-Center in Brockton, Mass., and instead he had nine hours of his life stolen from him.

Police say that Fernandes, 54, tried to prop up the overhead garage door using a metal bedpost so he could shimmy underneath and rob the place.

This was around midnight Tuesday, but, unfortunately for him, Fernandes got his head stuck under the door and was forced to lay with his right cheek on the dirty floor for about nine hours until assistant manager John Rodriguez found him, according to Boston.com.

“I happened to walk in and he was there,” Rodriguez told EnterpriseNews.com.. “I saw that little head sticking out.”

“Hang tight! The police are on their way,” is how Rodriguez said he greeted Fernandes. The assistant manager then started taking videos for evidence and his own amusement.

Brockton police spokesman Lt. Paul Bonanca said that at first, Fernandes tried to claim he was there to fix the garage door.

“He had tried to say he was there for a legitimate purpose,” Bonanca told a press conference. “But, obviously, with prying open the garage door, and the position he was found, it’s obvious his purpose was criminal.”

Fernandes, who is homeless, suffered a large bruise on the back of his head from the pressure of the door and was sent to the hospital to be checked, according to officials.

“It could have been a fatal situation if more momentum had occurred so I don’t recommend that for anyone to try,”

Bonanca told WBZ-TV.

It hasn’t been determined just how bad the bruise to Fernandes’ ego is.

Police plan to charge Hernandes with breaking and entering and malicious damage to property, WHDH-TV reported.

What does a narcissist buy a fellow narcissist who has everything?
Musician Kanye West dropped $34,000 on a golden skull as a Father’s Day gift for Jay Z, according to MTV. But the absurdity doesn’t stop there.
Yeezy also hired a private jet (at considerable expense) to pick up the tacky thing and personally deliver it to the father of 2. Jay Z and Beyonce welcomed a daughter in January. He also has a son by a video groupie.

Meek Mill Banned From New York Clubs After Chris/Drake Fight....

Seems like Meek Mill just doesn't have any luck with New York City nightclubs. On Tuesday morning, the Maybach Music rapper was denied entry into Tenjune, a night club NYC's meatpacking district.
"I was bout to walk in ten June n---as about to start shooting out there....I'ma take it innnn," Meek tweeted on Tuesday morning.
Meek Mill 'Hollered' At Chris Brown After The Drake Brawl
A rep for the New York Police Department told MTV News that they responded to a call at Tenjune, but after an investigation they concluded that there was no criminality suspected and they left.
The incident comes almost two weeks after Meek saw his name pop up in reports circling the club W.i.P. bottle-brawl, which involved members of Drake and Chris Brown's respective entourages. Meek has maintained that while he was inside of W.i.P. that night, he had nothing to do with the melee. Still it seems that he may be experiencing some type of backlash as he was denied entry into Tenjune. "I don't got no love for these clubs that discriminate against a certain race! F--- you...u won't get these racks," the Philadelphia rapper tweeted after being denied entry.
Meek, who plays a major role on MMG's recently released Self Made, Vol. 2,appeared on Wednesday's "RapFix Live" and said that he feels that his rising celebrity makes him a target for gossip. Overall the "I'ma Boss" rapper is just trying to maintain a positive outlook. "I don't really be having those controversies like that, man. It's just that the more hotter you get, they start talkin'," he said. "I don't be on no negative vibes, man."
His boss Rick Ross backed him up. "I know Meek. I know the situation he's in, I know where he comes from. I know that's something that he won't get involved in," Rozay said of the W.i.P. incident.

Mark Jackson Nude Photos Threatened to Be Leaked Alexis Adams Arrested | Exclusive Details

The shakedown scheme, which was foiled by the FBI with Jackson’s cooperation, resulted this week in the arrest of Alexis Adams, the former dancer, and her alleged coconspirator, ex-convict Marcus Shaw.

The man–who Jackson later identified as Shaw–showed the NBA coach a “folder containing some of the compromising photos” and a CD that he said contained “recordings of voice mail messages” that Jackson “left for Adams during their affair.”

When Jackson asked what he sought for the photos and recordings, Shaw replied, “I want to be made whole.” Shaw, who claimed to have found the compromising material in a storage locker he had purchased for $3500, said he wanted money to fix his teeth and get his car out of an impound lot.

Atlanta Hawks target Pau Gasol (for Josh Smith)...

Pau Gasol
Could Pau Gasol be wearing an Atlanta uniform next season? (Larry W. Smith / EPA / June 27, 2012)
The Atlanta Hawks have aggressively tried to trade power forward Josh Smith to the Lakers for Pau Gasol, initially expressing interest in Gasol shortly after Oklahoma City eliminated the Lakers in the Western Conference semifinals, The Times has learned.
Smith has been unhappy in Atlanta for more than a year, his dissatisfaction starting after the 2010-11 season because he felt he was an unfair target of criticism by coaches and media members.
In separate activity leading up to Thursday’s amateur draft, the Lakers are also open to trading Gasol to a team with a high first-round pick because they covet Kentucky freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Atlanta holds the 23rd pick and cannot help in that area.
No deals were imminent for the Lakers, who hold only the 60th and final pick in the draft. They have not had a first-round pick since taking Javaris Crittenton in 2007.
Last season, Smith averaged career-highs in points (18.8) and rebounds (9.6) for the Hawks. He is only 26, five years younger than Gasol.
If the Lakers struck a deal with Atlanta, they would lose the height advantage that made them one of the longest teams in the NBA — Smith is 6 feet 9, three inches shorter than Gasol — but would instantly become more athletic.
Smith is an incredibly active defender and has career averages of 1.3 steals and 2.2 blocked shots. Two years ago, he became the youngest player ever with 1,000 career blocked shots.
He has one more year on his contract for $13.2 million and becomes an unrestricted free agent in June 2013 unless he signs an extension. The Lakers would also benefit financially from a deal involving the two players: Gasol has two more years and $38.3 million on his contract. It is unclear which player would accompany Smith to the Lakers in such a scenario.
The problem with Smith is his percentages. He shot only 45.8% last season, very low for a power forward, and was a dreadful 63% from the free-throw line. He probably takes too many three-point attempts as well, making only 28 of 109 last season (25.7%).
Smith isn’t nearly as strong as Gasol in shooting, though he averaged a commendable 3.9 assists last season. Gasol averaged 3.7 a game.
Like Smith, Gasol could use a fresh start with a new franchise.
He was part of the proposed Chris Paul trade in December that was vetoed by the NBA. He never dragged his feet after the trade was nixed, but his play suffered in accordance with Andrew Bynum’s improvement.
Gasol failed to make the All-Star team after three consecutive appearances and stalled in the playoffs, averaging 12.5 points and shooting 43% in the Lakers’ short-lived run.
Gasol was similarly small in playoff stats the previous year, averaging 13.1 points and 42% shooting as the Lakers were eliminated by Dallas in the West semifinals.
Kidd-Gilchrist averaged 11.9 points and 7.4 rebounds for Kentucky, which won the NCAA championship. Listed at 6-foot-7, Kidd-Gilchrist is projected to be one of the top five picks in the draft.

> Details: Chris Brown and Drake Offered $1 Million Each To Fight - Photo posted in The Hip-Hop Spot | Sign in and leave a comment below!

Chris Brown and Drake will have the chance to put their money where there mouths are if boxing promoter Damon Feldmen gets his way. The man behind Hollywood Fight Night is offering up $3 million of billionaire entrepreneur Alki David’s money to Brown and Drake if they’ll settle their differences in the ring.

Each artists would receive $1 million for the fight, and another million would go to a charity targeted towards helping abused women.

Brown and Drake’s entourages were involved in a bottle throwing brawl inside a New York nightclub earlier this month. Brown was injured during the chaos, as well as his bodyguard and NBA star Tony Parker.

“It would be a good match, but I think Brown is going to train hard for it since he has something to prove here,” Feldmen tells RumorFix in an exclusive interview. “It would be a good fight. These guys have a grudge and it would be good if they can end stuff in the ring.”

And Damon tells us Brown and Drake would only have to square off a fraction of the length of a standard boxing match. “There’s only three, one-minute rounds with the 24-ounce boxing gloves and head gear.”

The fight would be financed by filmon.com, and Damon says making sure everyone involved gets paid is not an issue.

The Story Behind Jay-Z’s New Watch Alert [Exclusive Book Excerpt!]

> The Story Behind Jay-Z’s New Watch Alert [Exclusive Book Excerpt!] - Photo posted in The Hip-Hop Spot | Sign in and leave a comment below!

Excerpted from a new chapter in the recently released paperback edition of EMPIRE STATE OF MIND: HOW JAY-Z WENT FROM STREET CORNER TO CORNER OFFICE. Published by Portfolio/Penguin. Copyright (c) Zack O'Malley Greenburg, 2012.

“New watch alert—Hublots!”

Those four words, delivered by Jay-Z in the third line of “Otis,” may not have struck every listener as groundbreaking. To Redding’s biggest fans, they may have even seemed a tad sacrilegious. But they marked the beginning of yet another business arrangement between Jay-Z and a luxury brand, not to mention a major twist in a decades-long rivalry between Swiss watchmakers Audemars Piguet and Hublot.

To fully understand Jay-Z’s role in the story, one must start in 1976. That year, Italian scion Carlo Crocco left his family’s watchmaking company, the Binda Group, to create timepieces of his own. Naming his company Hublot, after the French word for porthole (the inspiration for the design of his watches), he set up shop in Geneva and unveiled his new line in 1980. Though he didn’t sell a single watch on his first day of operation, Crocco managed to generate sales of $2 million in his first year, thanks in part to his product’s bold, chunky design.

Problem was, there was already another bold, chunky design on the market from Audemars Piguet, a company whose heritage dates back to the late nineteenth century. Its Royal Oak Offshore line clicked into existence in 1972, four years before Crocco’s Hublot. Critics contended that Hublot’s watches were knock-offs its older rival’s models.

Perhaps because of this perception, the company languished for years after its initial surge. Says Stephen Hallock, founder of the watch blog TickTocking.com: “It’s safe to say that Hublot was basically dead.”

That changed in 2005, when Crocco sold the company to a man named Jean-Claude Biver. Born in Luxembourg, the brilliant and flamboyant Biver was known for his hobby of cheesemongering at his personal farm in the Swiss Alps—and for bringing watch brands back from the brink. In his previous job as a director at Swatch, Biver revived the company’s Omega line, tripling sales by using tactics like placing products in James Bond flicks.

Biver gave Hublot a much-needed makeover, starting with the guts of its watches. At the time, 95 percent of its products employed quartz movements—the precise but generic method of timekeeping used by the vast majority of analog watchmakers around the world—and only 5 percent of his models employed mechanical movements, as most prestigious Swiss brands like Patek Philippe and Audemars do.

“When you make quartz, you are not very close to the art,” Biver told me. “You are close to a technology, but not to art.” By 2006, 95 percent of the watches produced by Hublot were mechanical.

The second point was to focus on making watches that were, according to Biver, even bolder and “more macho” than Hublot’s original offerings. The Big Bang chronograph, launched in 2005, was the first effort in that direction. Critics claimed it was an Audemars knock-off, but Biver was quick to defend his new company. “Both brands took as an inspiration the look of a porthole,” he says. “Because of this similar inspiration, you have, necessarily, similarities.”

Sure enough, Biver’s plan got Hublot’s gears churning. Sales increased fivefold from 2004-2007; in 2008, luxury conglomerate Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey bought the company for an undisclosed sum, leaving its direction in Biver’s able hands. The watchmaker was awash in a fresh wave of marketing dollars, and Hublot soon scored endorsement deals with Formula 1 racing and the Manchester United soccer team, reportedly paying $6 million over three years to secure the latter.

Hublot, however, had plenty of competition on the celebrity endorsement front. In 2005, Jay-Z partnered with Audemars Piguet to create a limited edition watch in celebration of his tenth year in the music business—and lauded the brand in the song “Upgrade U,” where he and Beyoncé mention Audemars five times.

Those shout-outs may have attracted Biver’s attention, but he says the seeds of his Jay-Z collaboration were sown when he saw a picture of the rapper wearing a Hublot watch in 2009. Later, when Jay-Z was in Paris, Biver invited him to Geneva for a tour of the Hublot factory. When the rapper arrived, there were no writers or photographers involved (“Okay, I took a picture with Jay-Z and my son,” Biver admits. “But I didn’t want to exploit it.”)

Biver clearly made an impression. “Otis” debuted months later, and the message was clear: Jay-Z had switched his allegiance from Audemars to Hublot (When I contacted Audemars Piguet late last year, a representative declined to comment on the brand’s relationship with Jay-Z).

Over at Hublot, meanwhile, the effect was monumental. As soon as “Otis” hit the airwaves, the watchmaker was flooded with more orders than they could fill. “We could feel an increase in demand,” says Biver. “But that demand could not be transformed into turnover because we were out of stock.”

So, in the end, what compelled Jay-Z to mention Hublot so prominently in such an important song? When I spoke with Biver in November, he said that no money had changed hands before Watch the Throne’s release, but that the two sides were close to finalizing a significant agreement: “It’s only a question of time.”

The relationship (which still hadn’t been announced before the paperback edition of Empire State of Mind went to press) won’t be a simple licensing deal to make a watch bearing Jay-Z’s name. “That would be stupid; it’s too limited,” says Biver. “Sometimes you have partners who do not understand luxury or who don’t care or are not involved. That is not the case with Jay-Z. Here we have a real active player who has his own tastes . . . We can make a watch together with him, with his input.”

Judging by Jay-Z’s history with such deals, he’ll likely get a seven-figure payout, perhaps in the form of a small equity stake. Such an agreement likely won’t mean Jay-Z is done mentioning other timepieces—in his verse on protégé J. Cole’s “Mr. Nice Watch,” released in September, he again mentions his Hublot in the first line, but references his Audemars later in the verse. And that’s fine by Biver.

“I’m not a believer that you should only have one watch or only one brand,” he explains. “Most of our customers don’t have only a Hublot . . . if you drive a Ferrari, usually it’s not the only car you have.”

Jay-Z's bodyguards were allegedly involved in a "ruckus" at BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend after someone insulted Beyonce Knowles.

The '99 Problems' hitmaker's entourage reportedly "piled in" on a man after he upset the rapper's wife backstage at the London music event this weekend.

A source told the Metro newspaper: "Someone in the entourage said something to Beyonce to really upset her.

"Jay-Z's bouncers moved in and there was a massive ruckus. Things really kicked off as his heavies all piled in on the guy."

Meanwhile, Jay-Z and the other stars performing at the event - including Rihanna, Leona Lewis and Jessie J - were told not to make backstage demands unless they paid £1,000 for a rider, and all artists were provided with a shopping list of items they could buy to make their dressing rooms cosier.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The VIP artists got quite a shock when they were booked.

"They were told they were welcome to bring an entourage and their families as long as they paid for their fair share of the facilities themselves.

"To have a rider, they had to fork out £1,000 - and that's per rider."

Despite the price tag, Jay-Z still opted for brown leather sofas, white carpets and pashminas in his backstage area. - Bang Showbiz

McDonald's, supersized: First pictures inside the world's biggest McDonald's Restaurant...

When the Olympic Games begin in London next month, the capital will play host to the fittest, fastest and strongest athletes in the world.
But it will also be home to a rather different superlative – the biggest McDonald’s on the planet, right in the middle of the Olympic park.
So while the competitors stretch themselves to their very limits, hungry spectators will gorge on tens of thousands of burgers and portions of fries.

The vast two-storey restaurant will serve up to 1,200 customers an hour and sell £3million of fast food during the Games.
At 3,000 sq ft the building, next to the Olympic Stadium, is bigger than the current largest McDonald’s, in Moscow.

The Russian restaurant will regain its title on September 9, however, when the London branch is bulldozed after the Paralympics closing ceremony.
Yesterday McDonald’s gave the media a preview of its flagship store, which includes 20 till points and 1,500 seats.

It is one of four branches in the park, including two open to the public, one for the athletes and officials in the Olympic Village and one at the press centre.
Altogether they will serve 1.75million meals in 29 days, with Britons accounting for an estimated 85 per cent of customers.

The main restaurant will offer some of the best views across the Olympic Park from its first-floor balcony, which can seat 150 customers.
It will be staffed by 500 of its top-performing employees from 85,000 in the UK, with 200 on a shift at any one time.

The global sponsor has been linked to the Olympics since 1968, when the company airlifted hamburgers to US athletes in Grenoble, France, after it was reported they were missing McDonald’s food.

But the chain has been criticised for promoting the consumption of fast food at a time when people should be celebrating sports participation and healthy living.
It is estimated one in ten meals eaten at Games venues will be from McDonald’s.
Last week, members of the London Assembly said firms which sold junk food should not be linked to the Olympic Games. Cadbury and Coca-Cola are also sponsors.
Jenny Jones, a Green Party assembly member, said: ‘London won the right to host the 2012 Games with the promise to deliver a legacy of more active, healthier children across the world.

‘Yet the same International Olympic Committee that awarded the Games to London persists in maintaining sponsorship deals with the purveyors of high calorie junk that contributes to the threat of an obesity epidemic.
‘The advertising of foods high in fat, salt and sugar is already restricted on children’s television.

‘These Games will subvert those regulations by providing a glut of sponsored messages for high calorie food and drink that are at odds with the Olympian athletic ideal.’

The restaurant will be McDonald’s first sustainable outlet and 75 per cent of the building and fittings will be recycled or reused.

It is part of London 2012’s bid to be ‘the greenest Games ever’.
While the restaurants serve fast food to the hungry public, McDonald’s executives will be enjoying some of the top events from their corporate seats.

Yesterday, the firm admitted that global chief executive Jim Skinner and UK chief executive Jill McDonald, along with dozens of others, will enjoy corporate tickets to events such as the opening and closing ceremonies, athletics and swimming.

The restaurant will start trading on July 28, one day after the opening ceremony.
It will not open for the ceremony itself, which many VIP guests and heads of state are expected to attend, for ‘security reasons’.

Drexler says Dream Team pitied Magic Johnson because “he was going to die”

1992-dreamteam
It is really hard to explain to people who are growing up now the spector that HIV/AIDS cast back in the late 1980s and early 1990s — it was a death sentence that you could get through sex. There were drug regimines just coming on the market but nobody knew if they would work, nobody really knew what was going to happen to people who contracted the disease or how long you could live with it.
That was the environment around HIV-positive Magic Johnson and the Dream Team in 1992.
Long-time Sports Illustrated writer Jack McCallum has a new book coming out on the original Dream Team — a book I can’t wait to read — and Deadspin got some excerpts with Clyde Drexler talking about Magic on that team.
Drexler was never fond of Magic’s comeback — from the 1992 All-Star Game where Magic dropped 25 points — and those bitter feelings are still there.
“Magic was always…” And Drexler goes into a decent Magic impression: “‘Come on, Clyde, come on, Clyde, get with me, get with me,’ and making all that noise. And, really, he couldn’t play much by that time. He couldn’t guard his shadow.”
“But you have to understand what was going on then. Everybody kept waiting for Magic to die. Every time he’d run up the court everybody would feel sorry for the guy, and he’d get all that benefit of the doubt. Magic came across like, ‘All this is my stuff.’ Really? Get outta here, dude. He was on the declining end of his career.”
Drexler had played exquisitely in the 1992 All-Star Game in Orlando, although the MVP award eventually went to Magic, who had been added by Commissioner Stern as a special thirteenth player to the Western Conference roster. “If we all knew Magic was going to live this long, I would’ve gotten the MVP of that game, and Magic probably wouldn’t have made the Olympic team.”
Wow. Bitter much?
I think these comments say a lot more about Drexler than they do about Magic or the Dream Team.

Rapper 50 Cent Hospitalized After SUV Crashed With Mack Truck....

Hip-hop mogul 50 Cent (pictured) was hospitalized and released early Tuesday morning, after being injured in a vehicle crash. The performer was rushed to a nearby hospital, when his bullet-proof SUV was rear ended by a Mack truck on a Long Island expressway in New York, reports his website Thisis50.com.

The performer’s vehicle, which almost flipped over upon impact, was struck at around 3:00 a.m., when the truck driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle when his loader shifted.
50 Cent, whose actual name is Curtis Jackson, was taken on a stretcher to a nearby Queens hospital with injuries to his back and neck.

The truck driver also sustained injuries.
According to a source who spoke to XXL and who is close to 50′s G-Unit camp, both the rapper and truck driver went through a battery of testing at the hospital and were released. “He’s fine,” the source said about 50’s condition. About the driver, the source said, “He’s good.”
Only last month, 50 was hospitalized for food poisoning. He claimed to have gotten violently ill while overseas in London. When he arrived in the States, he became so dehydrated after throwing up that he had to be placed in a hospital. After undergoing some tests, doctors discovered that 50 had a clogged small intestine, which resolved itself after some much-needed rest.

Lakers Trying To Move Pau Gasol To Wizards For #3 Pick And Metta World Peace For Late Pick...

> Lakers Trying To Move Pau Gasol To Wizards For #3 Pick And Metta World Peace For Late Pick - Photo posted in BX SportsCenter | Sign in and leave a comment below!

You should officially classify these two Lakers trade reports as "rumors", because there is little chance that either of them happen. Los Angeles is trying to move Metta World Peace for a first-round pick. Good luck with that. The man formerly known as Ron Artest is owed nearly $15 million over the next two years.

The Lakers would also consider sending Pau Gasol to Washington for their third overall selection. The problem with that? In the last three months, the Wizards have traded for Nene Hilario and Emeka Okafor. Having three big men signed to huge contracts make little sense.
According to

Sam Amico

from FoxSports:

The Lakers are exploring all kinds of potential deals, having floated every name on the roster this side of Kobe Bryant. They are said to be open to trading Metta World Peace for a late first-rounder, with their eyes on Baylor forward Quincy Miller and Kentucky point guard Marquis Teague.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Back to the Lakers. If the Cavs are able to move up and nab Beal at No. 2, there’s talk the Lakers would be willing to make life easy for the Wizards and help them move out of the third spot. It would likely take power forward Pau Gasol.

Jimmy Henchman, was indicted on Friday (June 22) for arranging the murder of 50 Cent associate Lowell Fletcher back in 2009.

James Rosemond, aka tough 47-year-old G-Unit associate Jimmy Henchman, was indicted on Friday (June 22) for arranging the murder of 50 Cent associate Lowell Fletcher back in 2009. Henchman was charged by the United States attorney in Manhattan for conspiring with five other men to commit the murder. Fletcher was shot to death on September 29, 2009 in the Bronx, NY.

Preet Bharara, who handed down the indictment, said that Henchman and the other defendants had "operated like a mini-gang, allegedly committing a revenge killing, and a host of drug and firearms offenses."
Henchman's publicist claimed that the new indictment didn't come as a shock and that his legal team had been preparing for it. "The new indictment is no surprise, we heard it was a possibility," said Sibrena Stowe de Fernandez to AllHipHop.com. "Again his family and supporters are standing by Jimmy and we'll let his attorneys do their job."
This comes less than three weeks after Henchman was already convicted of running a multi-million dollar cocaine distribution ring. To date, nineteen people have been convicted on charges relating to this investigation into his criminal enterprise.

Vybz Kartel Walk Free On Ganja Charge....

Embattled dancehall star Vybz Kartel can breath a small sigh of relief after a Judge dismissed his ganja possession charge earlier today.
Vybz Kartel’s lawyer, Christian Tavares-Finson, argued today in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court that the crown could prove that his client was in possession of the banned substance at the time of his arrest.
Kartel, who real name is Adidja Palmer, was arrested in September last year at a hotel in Kingston. The deejay along with three others were charged with possession of ganja. Kartel, however, was escorted by law enforcement to several properties he owns or frequently visit, where an extensive search was carried out and several equipments seized including laptops.
Two of the other co-accused pleaded guilty to the marijuana possession charge.

Magistrate judge Maxine Ellis agreed with Tavares-Finson’s argument and subsequently dismissed the case.
Vybz Kartel is still facing two more serious murder charges in relation to the death of Clive “Lizard Williams and Barrington “Bosie” Burton.

Buju Banton Appeal Dismiss But Singer Still Fighting For Freedom...

Buju Banton Buju Banton Appeal Dismiss But Singer Still Fighting For Freedom
Embattled reggae dancehall star Buju Banton’s appeal was dismissed by a federal judge yesterday. The decision dealt a big blow to the singer’s quest for freedom.
A court of appeal in Georgia for the 11th Circuit handed down the ruling on Thursday (June 21st). The Appeal court argued that the jury’s decision to convict the Grammy winner last year was the right one.
Buju Banton, whose real name is Mark Myrie, was convicted in a Florida Federal Court in February 2011 on three counts of drug trafficking charges including conspiracy to distribute cocaine. The Judge dismissed a fourth charge of possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug crime, although he was also found guilty on that charge. The Appeal court also agrees with that conviction.
Buju Banton was sentence to 10 years in a federal prison.
Buju Banton’s lawyer David Markus says the singer is heartbroken by the Appeal court’s decision.
“I called him (Buju) and told him about the decision. He, like me, was heartbroken. He couldn’t believe it,” Markus told the Observer. “He believes that we were right and would win.”
“I truly believe that a good man is in jail for talking a big game. I will continue to fight for him,” Markus added.
Markus is asking Buju Banton legion of fans to rally for the “Destiny” singer in this difficult time.
“He’s been strong for a long while, but this is a big blow for him,” said David Markus.
Banton and his legal team may seek a new trial.

Del Taco Worker Allegedly Stabs Customer Who Complained About His Order...

(credit: CBS)

Authorities say an employee at a fast-food drive-thru window in Southern California stabbed a customer after a dispute over his order.

A Riverside County sheriff’s statement Friday said the man complained about his order to 28-year-old Gabriel Villalba, who worked at Del Taco in Hemet, shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday.

The statement says the confrontation escalated until Villalba stabbed the customer in the abdomen with a knife.

The customer, whose name was not released, was driven to the hospital by friends. His injury is serious but not considered fatal.

Villalba was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $25,000 bail.

Deputies did not know if he had hired an attorney and there were no local phone listings in Villalba’s name....

Chris Brown's Reps Dismiss Rumors Of A Recent Hookup With Ex Rihanna...

Representatives for R&B star Chris Brown have shot down reports suggesting he and his ex-girlfriend Rihanna shared a hotel room in New York City last week, insisting the "Kiss Kiss" star is madly in love with his current girlfriend and would never do such a thing.

The former couple, which split after a much-publicised bust-up in 2009, has started working together on new material, prompting gossips to assume Brown and his ex are working on a full reconciliation.

And the romance speculation reached fever pitch on Thursday after a Life & Style magazine article suggested the two hitmakers had a secret rendezvous at the Big Apple's Gansevoort Hotel, while Brown's girlfriend Karrueche was out of town.

A source told the publication, "Chris snuck in through the side door at the Gansevoort Hotel super late at night and went to Rihanna's room."

But Brown's rep has dismissed the story, insisting it's "completely not true."

The rep tells HollyScoop.com, "As we have said many times before, he is very happy with his girlfriend, Karrueche, and she was in New York with him."

Rihanna was in New York at the time, spending quality time with her ailing grandmother Dolly and members of her family - the "Umbrella" hitmaker flew to London for a series of summer commitments at the beginning of this week.

Pusha T Calls Lil Wayne's "Goulish" "Trash"

Pusha T says he wasn't impressed by Lil Wayne's response record to his cut "Exodus 23:1."

Pusha T stopped by Funkmaster Flex's Hot 97 show earlier this evening to touch on several topics, confirming another Clipse album will be released and stating that he was surprised by Young Money's camaraderie following the Summer Jam fiasco. But at the onset of the conversation, the Virginia native revealed that the G.O.O.D. Music compilation, Cruel Summer, will release on August 7th.

"August 7th. G.O.O.D. Music compilation coming August 7th," he confirmed.

Pusha Ton also touched on Lil Wayne's record "Goulish," which served as a response to his alleged Drake diss on "Exodus 23:1." He explained why he was surprised that Weezy was the one to step in and respond to the cut.

"I was surprised actually at the whole... anybody, but Wayne specifically, answering 'Exodus.' I've never seen one record that didn't say any names cause so much of a firestorm," he stated.

He also denied that the record was about anyone in Young Money - "Why would that relate to Wayne or Drake?" he said" but was quick to brand "Goulish" as "trash."

"It was horrible. It was trash. It wasn't good," he said, stating that he also wasn't feeling the beat. "I didn't like that either. Let me say this. I didn't like it for that type of record. I didn't feel like, in all honesty, I haven't said anything about it because I didn't think it was good enough to respond to."

A lot of sports analysts and commentators picked the Oklahoma City Thunder to rain on the Miami Heat's Game 4 chances to win.
A lot of people were wrong.

LeBron James took one step closer to his first NBA championship after helping the Heat knock off the Thunder 104-98 Tuesday to take a 3-1 series lead in the NBA Finals. And although the series isn't over yet, most folks are calling it a day for the Thunder and finally giving King James his crown.

"What is happening before our very eyes is the coronation is on its way. I'm looking at a guy that is finally going to deserve the crown that has been placed on him for years basically by himself. He's earning it now," Stephen A. Smith said on ESPN's First Take.

Leave it to Smith's cohort Skip Bayless to throw a little shade in LeBron James direction. Bayless was less impressed with LeBron James' Game 4 performance which included 26 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds.

"LeBron James had a whole lot of help from a whole lot of unlikely sources. I'm going to give LeBron 30 percent of the credit," said Bayless, who still believes Dwyane Wade the 'Batman' of the Miami Heat.

Whatever percentage of credit you give LeBron James for the Heat's success, TNT analyst Charles Barkley is ready to add King James' name among the list of NBA greats.

“Once LeBron wins a championship, he will go down as one of the 10 best players ever. We have never had a guy that is physically gifted who can run and do everything. It is an honor and a privilege to watch him play," Barkley said.

Mitch Kupchak on Ramon Sessions...

Had Sessions picked up his option, he’d have been guaranteed to play for the Lakers in the 2012-13 season, where as he will now become a free agent starting on July 1 with the ability to sign with any team.

On Sessions not picking up his option:
Kupchak: The fact that he would not extend (his option) clearly puts him in the position where he’s an unrestricted free agent on July 1. With all situations like that, both sides have to absorb some risk. I’m not quite sure if he’s completely aware of what the future holds for him beginning on July 1. Beginning today, we have to plan for the contingency that he won’t be available as a free agent at a later date in July. We have to make sure we have back up plans in place.

I suppose we could look to fill that position between now and July 1 via a trade, or we can wait until July 1 and pursue Ramon, or perhaps another free agent, although we’re limited with the exceptions available to us. He did indicate that he was happy here in Los Angeles and that he would look to return. But once again, once the market comes into play, there’s no telling what will happen. We don’t know if he’s going to be back or not at this point, so we have to cover our bases, which (Ramon and his agent) understand. Beginning on July 1, it takes one team to make him an offer that we couldn’t or would not match; there’s a market value, and then there’s always a team that will do something beyond the market value. So that’s the whole process of uncertainty with becoming a free agent, but he’s represented by a really experienced agent and Ramon is a bright kid. We’ve talked it through and I think both sides are aware of the uncertainty that each side has to deal with.

On if Kupchak wants him back, or wishes he would have picked up the option:
Kupchak: My preference was that he would have extended for one more year.

On having few games with Sessions:
Kupchak: We had a shortened season, no training camp. He was traded to us in mid-March, which is late, probably about 20-something games to go. He’d admit that he wasn’t really familiar with playoff intensity – it was the first time he’d ever played in a playoff game. So I think he would indicate if he were talking to you right now that he thinks he’ll play better with a year of training camp, 80-something games and playoff (experience) under his belt next year, and I think he will too.

On Sessions as a player:
Kupchak: He’s an incredible athlete, he thinks the game, he understands the game, he’s great in the locker room, he wants to improve. I thought when he first got here he was very effective and I thought as we approached the playoffs and particularly the second round of the playoffs, he wasn’t as comfortable as he was at the beginning. Having gone through that many, many years ago, the playoffs are a completely different experience. The intensity level, the scrutiny, the awareness by the public. Typically you don’t see (young players succeed as much) under those conditions. I think he’d admit it wasn’t his best basketball. I look at our team, and not many of our players (played their best).

On if he’s surprised Sessions didn’t exercise the option:
Kupchak: No. Nothing surprises me at this point. He is a young player that’s going to get better, and now you’re dealing with a traditional unrestricted free agent situation, and there’s a number of different ways that can go.

On what the Lakers could offer Sessions as a free agent:
Kupchak: He falls into the unrestricted free agent category, and we have Bird rights with him. So I don’t believe we’re limited other than the maximum exemption, which obviously he wouldn’t apply for.

On what the team wants to do with Sessions moving forward:
Kupchak: Even if we did, I’m not sure I’d share it right now. You could have 8-10 teams that value him at a certain number, but maybe there’s another team that values him at a much higher number. We’ve been involved in situations like that in the past. We knew what his number was if he did extend. But it can work the other way too: the market might not be as good as he thinks it might be. But he’s a young, developing player who I think is going to get better.

On if this changes how he looks at the trade for Sessions with Cleveland:
Kupchak: There were several reasons why we made the trade. Obviously we were aware that he could elect not to extend. Like I mentioned earlier, that’s not what I was hoping for, but it frees up dollars to go in another direction if that’s what we choose to do. When we evaluated the trade three or four months ago, those were the things we talked about. We felt either way, we were in a good position, maybe one way a little bit better if he chose to extend.

On the free agent class:
Kupchak: There is always value. In terms of high profile names, I wouldn’t categorize this free agent class as one of the best ever, but there is always value out there depending upon how you define it. Whether it’s at the minimum, the mid-level or the mini-mid (level), there’s somebody out there every year that can play and help your club.

On Andrew Goudelock and Darius Morris:
Kupchak: Andrew Goudelock is on a 2-year deal, so we have no decision to make there. Darius Morris – we have until June 30 to tender him a 1-year contract. If we do that, we retain his rights and we retain the right to negotiate with him beginning July 1

"There were several reasons why we made the trade. Obviously we were aware that he could elect not to extend. Like I mentioned earlier, that’s not what I was hoping for, but it frees up dollars to go in another direction if that’s what we choose to do"

"I suppose we could look to fill that position between now and July 1 via a trade

or perhaps another free agent"
